Buy Greater Gardner Now
golfoutingLaunched at the beginning of May, 2009, this is a private/public partnership designed to encourage local real estate sales throughout the Greater Gardner area and offers those who are ready to purchase incentives to help take advantage of low rates, special programs and save money in the process. The program is for anyone looking to purchase a condo, single family or 2-4 family residence in Ashburnham, Gardner, Hubbardston, Templeton, Westminster and Winchendon. To date, six local lenders have pledged $32 million dollars in mortgages to the campaign and realtors, attorneys, home inspectors and appraisers are offering additional financial incentives.

An additional component of this limited-time campaign (May 1, 2009 - December 31, 2009) is a shop local message reinforced with congratulatory items or discounts provided by our Value-Added Partners. Several area restaurants, service providers and retailers have also joined the campaign by becoming Value-Added Partners, providing a Welcome Home gift that new home buyers will redeem at the business’ location.

CDC Moves to New Location
In January 2007 the Greater Gardner CDC bought 246-248 Central Street from the Gardner Redevelopment Authority. The GGCDC is rehabilitating the 100 year-old building with plans to occupy the first floor and offer affordable rental units on the second floor. The project is financed by grants secured through the City of Gardner from the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development, by private funds contributed by members of the community, and by private financing through TD Banknorth.

Central Street building is now completed.
